PREGNANCY DIARY- GESTATIONAL DIABETES

The moment I found out I had Gestational Diabetes I was absolutely heartbroken. The early months of my pregnancy had been so difficult, but the second trimester and the beginning of the third had been going so well I didnt think anything bad could happen. The first thing going through my mind was  once again, I had failed my baby, and there were a lot of tears of frustration to reflect those feelings. I got the news on a Friday, so it left me with a lot of time to google and overthink before i was able to see a doctor. I'm happy to say that with the help of my doctor and the Diabetes Association of Canada ( thank you internet !!) , I am lot more educated on what it means to have Gestational Diabetes. I will also be attending a one on one session at my local diabetes centre, where I will get some guidance on the lifestyle and dietary changes i'll need to make for the remainder of my pregnancy. With just the basic information I have gotten from my doctor, I have made an effort to cut out all junk food
(goodbye Orange Crush pregnancy cravings) and do some form of daily light excersise. In the weeks to come I know my willpower will be tested, especially when it comes to cravings, but I know that the changes I make will be important for my sweet baby.  I'll definitely keep you guys up to date on my journey.

REVIEW- MAKEUP FOREVER ULTRA HD INVISIBLE COVERAGE FOUNDATION

Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Coverage Foundation in R520 Cinnamon

Orange ! That's what my face looked like after applying the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation in shade R520. At first I didn't think it was too bad but honey, when a man tells you your face is looking orange, well then your face is orange. Especially when the person telling you knows absolutely nothing about makeup. However, in the foundations defense, I did match my shade on my own and, we all know that Sephora lighting can be extremely deceiving. I also found that the foundation was slightly on the watery side, but given its "Invisible" qualities I'm assuming that the coverage is light but build-able. I did return this product to my local Sephora, where they informed me that the foundation does come in other shades. Unfortunately for this chocolate girl, those shades weren't available at their location.  I did end up purchasing another foundation the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12- Hour Full Coverage Foundation in the shade DEEP HONEY.
Hopefully this one is a keeper!

DO BLACK WOMEN AGE SLOWER THAN WHITE WOMEN?

I had to share this great video I saw on facebook! If you've ever heard or used the saying "black dont crack", then this video is for you.
It gives a great explanation of why black women often age slower then white women, along with scientific research and evidence to back it up. In anticipation of all the beautiful spring and summer weather, this video also explains the importance of proper sun protection.

Hope you found this helpful !
