SCRIBBLED THOUGHTS...THANKFUL

Cleaning out my room this weekend, to finally start a redecorating process that I've been looking forward to, was
definitely an experience. It finally hit me that my room wouldn't look the way my grandma had designed it before she passed away. In some ways I was super excited to finally have a room that would reflect my personal style, but in other ways it was bittersweet to realize that I would no longer see her touch on almost everything from the furniture to the paint. Going through the contents of my room all I could think about was everything my grandmother had taught me, from the beautiful lullaby she used to sing ( which I still sing to myself If I can't sleep) to every lesson she taught me, I found myself feeling a wave of new found peace.  More then anything I am thankful for the time I got to spent with her.
She loved me when I felt I didn't deserve it.
Made me laugh.
Let me cry when I needed to.
Even when she disciplined me I could tell it hurt her more then it hurt me.
More then anything she was my grandma, my best friend, and the person i knew I could trust with anything!
I LOVE HER AND MISS HER but.. I am so THANKFUL for every moment I got spend with her.

NATURAL TOUCH?

When it comes to Foundation I am a full coverage girl whole heartedly. You call out names like MAC, Makeup Forever, and NARS and I have tried them all, I like my face flawless and matte, and I mean for the prices that these brands retail for, who wouldn't want flawless perfection?

14 Shades
Lightweight, luxurious
Hints of natural jojoba, rosehip & sea buckthorn extractsSPF 10

I was really excited when I first saw this CoverGirl Foundation at Target, as I have personally never tried a drugstore foundation and I was looking for a cheaper and lighter alternative to my usual MAC Studio Fix Fluid.

After testing out this foundation on my hand in the store I decided to pick it up and give it a try.

There was a selection of 14 different shades, and though that is a wide selection, I personally believe that they didn't offer enough shades for women of colour. The very first thing I noticed about this foundation is that to me personally, it smells absolutely horrible. It's not even one of those smells that you can get used to throughout the day it just absolutely stinks. The foundation definitely offers light coverage, so it's not for someone who is looking to fully cover up all the imperfections on their face. To see how this foundation really worked I applied it without a setting powder, and let me tell you that was a huge mistake. This foundation had my face looking like an oil rig by the end of the day, so if you have oily skin I would suggest, a setting powder, primer, or to not wear the foundation at all.

I really had high hopes for this foundation since it was my first drugstore buy! Unfortunately the smell and the fact that you could probably fry something on the oil on my face means that for me this foundation is a no go. I would really love to find a great drugstore foundation so I would love any suggestions!

MELODY MONDAYS

Anyone who knows me knows that I have some serious love for Adele, I think that everything she sings is just so beautifully soulful its the kind of music that make your ears amazingly happy. The first time I heard an Adele song was when she wasn't very well known and I knew from that moment on that I was a lifetime fan! Imagine how amazingly excited I was when I found Emeli Sande! An artist who is also from the  UK her music speaks to your soul on a level that is so utterly amazing, her album Our Version Of Events, has become a constant replay on my iTunes.
Check out her songs "Read All About It (PartIII)" and "My Kind Of Love" below

MONOCHROMATIC

                   MONOCHROMATIC

MONOCHROMATIC by monroeandjane featuring kate spade watches

There is nothing more beautiful in fashion then a perfectly put together black and white outfit. Taking these two basic shades and turning it into a simple and chic outfit is one of the basic skills that every fashionista should know. Monochromatic has been a huge trend in fashion lately, but its the way that pieces are being put together that is making the simple monochromatic trend, based around black and white so interesting. The use of black and white to create patterns which automatically give great shape to the body is one of the reasons why MONOCHROMATIC is the way to go if your looking to be chic and stylish. This trend also allows you to add a pop of colour to any outfit without it being to over the top.
